The memory stick is genuine at least from what I can tell but everything around it is counterfeit. Product key, even the box! It looks like someone cut the windows flag out with a blunt knife rather than press cut! Product key is also blocked due to piracy. The process was quicker the USB stick being more up to date but the result was the same, an Education version. I don't know if the install hiccup is a product problem or a typical Microsoft annoyance, but it seems to be surmountable without having to phone Microsoft.
